Presents
RAFFLEMANIA
What is Rafflemania? It’s a night for students, staff, families and friends of Liberty Hill to come together for fun and prizes. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy in the excitement and try to win some of the great theme baskets that are put together by the classes of LH Elementary, Burden Elementary and LH Intermediate, the PTO and a few community friends. There will be door prizes for adults and children. A boy’s bike and a girl’s bike will also be given away. How does Rafflemania work? Each class will choose a theme for their basket entry. Teachers, staff and students then bring items pertaining to that theme and put together a “basket” (or any other container—a basket doesn’t have to be a basket, it can be a wagon, a toolbox, a game table, etc.) New and handmade items are acceptable, but we ask that no perishable items be sent. Baskets are decorated & displayed and then judged for creativity by community members. There is even a contest for the most creative ticket “can”. In the past, there has been between 50-60 baskets, so your chances of winning are pretty good. Sheets of 25 tickets are sold for only $5.00—that’s 25 chances to win for only 5 bucks! You may buy as many sheets of tickets as you like. You can put them all in one ticket can or put a few in several cans. A winning ticket is drawn for each basket. Winners need not be present to win, except for door prizes. What can you do? First, watch for more information coming soon. Rafflemania is Friday, November 18. Basket themes will be chosen at a special PTO meeting on September 13, at 8:30 am at the Elementary after our PTO general meeting. Second, when you receive the letter home asking for items, please send them to the basket coordinator promptly. Baskets must be decorated and wrapped the week before Rafflemania. You can send in items for the basket, or you may also send in money and let the coordinator shop for you. Third, indicate below if you wish to help the night of Rafflemania and return this form to your child’s teacher. This is a BIG event and it takes a lot of volunteers to make it successful. The person in charge of each area will contact you. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!! Rafflemania has been very successful over the years, and through all of our efforts, it is sure to be a giant success once again! If you are interested in coordinating a basket: please attend our general PTO meeting on Sept 13 to pick your theme. As a coordinator you are responsible for sending home the flyers we give you to fill out (or be creative and make your own), gathering your class donations and assembling them into your “basket”. Your basket can be as large or small as you like! Some parents find it easier to ask for cash donations and shop for the items they need to fill their basket.
